AMSA expects first-half earnings surge on higher prices
ArcelorMittal South Africa (AMSA) expects first-half-of-2021 earnings to surge at least 72% on-year due to the jump in iron and steel prices, and the stronger rand against the dollar.
AMSA’s H1 headline earnings should improve by at least 72% or ZAR 4.5 billion ($315 million) from ZAR 2.6 billion in the same period in 2020. This is the main profit measurement used in South Africa.
AMSA will release its half-year results on 29 July, Kallanish notes.
