ArcelorMittal rules out workforce cut at Gijón plant
ArcelorMittal confirms to Kallanish that it will not make workforce adjustments at its Spanish long products unit in Gijon. The company has also decided to withdraw its proposal to change the system of work shifts at the Asturian factory.
The steelmaker's decision came as workers assembled to discuss the substantial modification of working conditions and considered calling a five-day strike in protest at the planned adjustment.
