ArcelorMittal Poland to reduce coke plant capacity, emissions
ArcelorMittal Poland (AMP) plans to revamp one and close a further two batteries at its Zdzieszowice coke plant. This will reduce the plant’s production capacity but also limit its harmful emissions.
The firm is investing PLN 58 million ($15.66m) into overhauling battery no.5, which will involve replacing the refractory lining and installing a de-dusting system. Work should be completed by end-2018 and will extend the unit’s lifespan by 20 years.
