ArcelorMittal Poland output slumps, Polish market nevertheless fourth
ArcelorMittal Poland (AMP) produced 3.9 million tonnes of crude steel in 2020, down 19% on-year. After idling its Krakow plant’s hot-end the previous year on account of weakened demand and cheaper imports, the firm closed it for good last November.
AMP is still producing liquid steel at the two operational blast furnaces at its flagship Dabrowa Gornicza long product steelworks. This plant is also supplying slab to the Krakow unit so that it can carry on…
