ArcelorMittal Poland recycles gas to boost energy efficiency
Tameh Polska, a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and energy provider Tauron, has commissioned a new 50MW turbo generator that will convert gas by-product into electricity and heat for ArcelorMittal Poland.
The PLN 120 million ($29.8m) project will use blast furnace, coke and converter gas to supply the Polish steelmaker with energy. This will substantially reduce fuel consumption and therefore also emissions.
