ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih prepares for blast furnace revamp
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR) is preparing to stop its blast furnace no.9 for its $270 million reconstruction that will significantly reduce the unit’s dust emissions.
The investment is one of the Ukrainian steelmaker’s largest planned for 2021 (see Kallanish passim). The others include the construction of an iron ore pellet plant and upgrade of the exhaust gas treatment system in BOF shops.
