ArcelorMittal Brazil’s Serra Azul mine expansion advances
ArcelorMittal says it is making good progress in expanding its Serra Azul iron ore mine in Brazil. The complex in Itatiaiuçu should produce 4.5 million tonnes/year of DRI feed by exploiting compact itabirite iron ore, Kallanish notes. The project represents an investment of approximately $350 million. It includes new ore processing and concentration plants, already in the final stages of construction, and modification of the entire configuration of the mine.…
