ArcelorMittal begins Avilés coke batteries closure
ArcelorMittal confirms to Kallanish that it has commenced the scheduled closure of coke production at its Avilés plant. The coke batteries at the site will be turned off from the beginning of October, while the start-up of the first new coke battery in Gijón is planned for mid-November, the steelmaker says.
