ArcelorMittal to further reduce Spanish steel output
ArcelorMittal says it is going to adjust its production again in Spain. It will do so by extending the programmed stop for maintenance at one of the blast furnaces at its Gijón plant in the fourth quarter of 2019, the steelmaker tells Kallanish. This follows measures taken by the steelmaker, announced on 29 May, to cut its output in Europe due to a weakness in steel demand and high levels of imported steel.
