Aramco studies plate mill JV to reduce imports
Saudi Aramco has signed a memorandum of understanding with two Japanese steel firms to carry out a feasibility study into constructing a plate mill in Ras al-Khair, Saudi Arabia. The plant would aim to reduce dependency on imports of plate that is used to make products consumed by Aramco such as large-diameter pipe (LDP), pressure vessels and offshore platforms.
