AQS brings forward expansion
Algerian Qatari Steel, the mill in the region of Bellara, is bringing forward its production capacity expansion.
Last year the mill launched production at its electric arc furnace-based meltshop with a crude steel capacity of slightly over 1 million tonnes/year. Earlier this month it started hot testing at a new similar-sized EAF meltshop, which will double the crude steel capacity of the mill this year (see Kallanish passim).
