April finished steel imports decrease
US total imports appear to have risen in April, but finished steel imports remain weak, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing Commerce Department data, the institute puts total steel imports for April at 2.452 million short tons, 1.62m st of which were finished. That’s up 6.3% and down 9.5%, respectively, from March.
