Anyang Xinyang ignites new blast furnace
On Monday, Henan Anyang Iron & Steel’s Xinyang subsidiary held an ignition and commissioning ceremony for a new 1,250 cubic metre blast furnace, two months ahead of schedule.
The new BF has 1.15 million tonnes/year of iron capacity, Kallanish notes. To secure capacity quotas, Xinyang’s two 600cum BFs had been planned to be dismantled.
