Antam’s nickel ore, ferronickel output diverge
For the second quarter and the first half of the year, Indonesia’s PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) saw a further increase in its nickel ore production. Meanwhile, the performance of its ferronickel sector weakened, Kallanish notes.
Antam reported quarterly unaudited nickel ore production at nearly 3.41 million tonnes, a significant 1.3 times increase compared to Q2 of 2022. This took half-year production to 6.81mt, about 55% higher than a year earlier.
