Antam’s ferronickel output stabilises, nickel ore jumps
Indonesia-based PT Antam produced 6,378 tonnes of nickel contained in ferronickel in the second quarter, down 1.07% year-on-year. Production fell 0.65% on-year to 12,679t in the first half of 2021, Kallanish notes.
Quarterly nickel ore output remained stable at 2.7 million wet metric tonnes, but it surged 286.72% y-o-y to 5.34m wmt over H1.
Excluding ore produced as feed material for its own ferronickel plants, 3.66m wmt of nickel ore was sold to domestic market…
