Antam needs to export to fund smelter project
Indonesian state-owned nickel miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) says it will not have the cash flow to sustain $500 million of investments in downstream nickel smelting capacity, unless export restrictions are eased. Indonesia’s export ban was meant to encourage investment in processing but many investments have struggle to sustain financing through to commissioning, Kallanish notes.
