Anhui completes 2017 steel capacity goals

Eastern China’s Anhui province has completed its capacity elimination targets of 620,000 tonnes/year of iron and 640,000 t/y of steel capacity, according to the provincial Economy & Information Commission. All of the removed capacity was from Ma’anshan Iron & Steel Group (Magang). In 2017 Anhui had also eliminated 2.47 million tonnes/year of mislabelled steel capacity by early May.
