AMSA steelworks wind-down curbs Kumba 2019 sales
Kumba Iron Ore says it is well-positioned for the first quarter of 2020 with 2.2 million tonnes of stock at Saldanha Port. In the fourth quarter of 2019 its sales fell -8% on-year to 10.7mt, with domestic sales plummeting -73% to 232,000t, Kallanish notes.
Q4 production, however, rose 16% to 11.81mt, driven by improved performance at Sishen and the restarting of the Kolomela dense media separation (DMS) plant as scheduled.
