AMSA close to 'fair price' agreement with government
ArcelorMittal South Africa (AMSA) has made “…significant progress” in talks with the government to agree a “…fair price” of flat steel in the local market, and ensure a preference for local steel use in government infrastructure projects, the firm says. The Vanderbijlpark steelworks will continue to operate following its ‘industrial footprint’ review, but its future will depend on further import tariffs.
