AM/NS plan Calvert EAF start-up for 2023
ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel Corporation plan to build a new electric arc furnace at their joint AM/NS Calvert site in Alabama, Kallanish learns from a Nippon release.
Start-up of the planned 1.5 million tonne, $775m furnace is slated for 2023.
ArcelorMittal said in November that plans for the furnace were still on-track. The total output of the Calvert site will remain unchanged at 5.3m t/year.
