AMKR steel output declines, development projects prioritised

Ukraine's ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR) reduced crude steel production in the first half of 2020 compared with H1 2019. Six-month production fell -7.7% on-year to 2.4 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. Finished steel output fell by -4.3% on-year to 2.2mt and pig iron production decreased by -3.8% to 2.5mt. “In general, production of the main types of products was at 90-95% of the planned schedule,” says AMKR chief executive Mauro Longobardo. …
