AMKR raises ore output, profit despite steel fall
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR)'s 2020 output of most products decreased, but the company made a net profit despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Steel output fell 12.1% on-year to 4.7 million tonnes last year. Pig iron production decreased by 6.9% to 4.9mt and rolled products output was down 7.6% to 4.3mt. It also produced 9mt of sinter, down by 7.9%. However, iron ore production rose by 4.5% to 25.6mt. Concentrate output was more by 8.3% to 10.7mt.
