АМКR tailings dump leaks water, production impact unknown
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR) says there was a leak of about 80,000 cubic meters of technical water from the eastern side of its Tsentralnoye tailings dump. This is 4% of the unit’s total volume. The firm did not respond on Tuesday to Kallanish requests for comment on whether production will be impacted as a result.
The tailings pond was not overfilled and the storage tank at the foot of the object prevented further water outflow, the enterprise claims.
