Alter Trading acquires Illinois scrap processors
St. Louis-based Alter Trading has acquired the operations of two metal scrap processors in Peoria, Illinois, A. Miller & Co and Allied Iron & Steel. Kallanish learns that the deal closed on 20 March, but specific financial details regarding this transaction remain undisclosed.
Alter currently operates 17 shredding locations and 67 metal recycling facilities across the US. The company processed 3.55 million short tons of ferrous scrap in 2021.
