Allegheny Technologies idles Pennsylvania joint venture
US specialty metals producer Allegheny Technologies Incorporated is idling its Midland, Pennsylvania, joint venture as a result of the Trump administration’s 232 tariffs, the company says.
The 50% venture with Chinese stainless producer Tsingshan Group relies on stainless slab imported from Indonesia, which are still subject to the administration’s 25% steel tariff.
