Allegheny adjusts April surcharge mechanism
US specialty metals producer Allegheny Technologies Inc is adjusting its ferrochrome surcharge mechanism for April, Kallanish reports.
Allegheny typically uses a European ferrochrome benchmark price to set the ferrochrome component cost for its stainless surcharges.
The on-going Covid-19 pandemic has delayed the issuance of a new second-quarter benchmark price, and so Allegheny plans to rely on the extant Q1 benchmark price of $1.01/pound.
