Algoma’s plate mill upgrades set for year-end
Canadian flatrolled producer Algoma Steel’s plate mill modernisation project is expected to be completed by November, Kallanish reports.
The phase one expansion, expected to be completed by mid-year, includes a new primary slab de-scaler, automated surface inspection system, a new in-line hot leveler, and automation of the 166-inch mill.
