Iron ore shortage halts El Hadjar steelmaking
Algeria’s El Hadjar has announced the temporary stoppage of its blast furnace due to the lack of iron ore stocks at the mill, Kallanish learns from the local official governmental news agency. The steelmaker is the sole integrated plant in the North African country.
The mill is said to have only enough iron ore stocks to feed the BF for three days. It usually needs to hold 40 days of stock to feed the BF effectively.
