Algeria’s El Hadjar restarts BF after new stoppage
Algerian integrated steelmaker El Hajar restarted operating its blast furnace last weekend after another six-day-long stoppage occurred last week due to a lack of raw materials from local mines in southern Algeria.
Last week’s blast furnace stoppage was only the latest of a series of stoppages registered this year, forced by a lack of raw materials, strikes and floods, Kallanish notes.
