Algeria’s El Hadjar sees steel production fall again
Production at the integrated steel mill operated by Algeria’s El Hadjar suffered again last year due to a number of stoppages at the site’s furnaces.
According to information shared with Kallanish by local sources the complex produced 560,000 tonnes of pig iron last year, compared to output of 700,000t in 2018. The steelmaker’s furnaces were halted a number of times during 2019 due to shortages of raw materials and industrial action.
