AISI: US raw steel production on the upswing
US weekly raw steel production has seen a significant uptick both week on week and year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In the week ended March 12, US raw steel production totaled 1.722 million short tons at an average capability utilization of 73.6% - up 2.9% from the prior week’s production at 71.5% and up 7.6% from last year’s equivalent production at 67.7%.
