AISI: US raw steel production slips 2.7%
US raw steel production is down 2.7% week on week and 9.8% year on year, says the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production in the week ended September 12 was about 1.69 million st at a capability utilization of 70.9%. Production was about 1.74 million st at 72.8% in the previous week and was 1.88 million st at 78.1% in the equivalent weekly period last year.
