US raw steel production falls on-week and on-year
US raw steel production fell both week-on-week and year-on-year, Kallanish learns from the latest American Iron and Steel Institute report.
Raw steel production reached 1.727 million net tons at 72.2% capability utilisation in the week ended October 3. This is down -0.5% from the previous week’s production of 1.735m nt at 72.6% capability utilisation and down 7.3% from last year’s equivalent production of 1.862m nt at 77.4% capability utilisation.
