AISI: US production down 1.8% from last week
US raw steel production posted a slight decline in the week ended October 17, Kallanish learns from an American Iron and Steel Institute report.
Production fell 1.8% from last week to 1.675 million short tons at 70.1% average capability utilisation. The average capability utilisation last week was 71.3%, yielding 1.705m st.
Production also fell 9% from last year’s equivalent weekly total of 1.840m st at 76.5% capability utilisation.
