AISI: Total May imports up, finished imports static
Total US import levels may be up substantially in May, though finished import levels should post a relatively minor gain, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing the latest permit application data from the US Department of Commerce, AISI puts the May permit total at 2.928 million st – up 16% from April’s permit application total and up 18% from April’s final import total.
