AISI: US raw steel production slips
US raw steel production posted a small loss week on week but a gain from last year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In the week ended March 5, US raw steel production totaled 1.678 million short tons at an average capability utilisation of 71.5%. That’s down 1.1% from the prior week’s production of 1.692m st at 72.4% but up 2.6% from last year’s equivalent weekly production of 1.631m st at 68.9%
