US raw steel output rises week-on-week, down on-year
US raw steel production inched up week-on-week but is down slightly year-on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
For the week ending 6 February, raw steel production moved up 1.7% from last week to 1.685 million short tons at 71.9% capacity utilisation. That is a -1.2% decrease from the 1.705m st produced in the equivalent week last year at 72.4%.
