AISI expects imports to rise 4% in June
Total US steel import permit applications were up 4% from May’s preliminary import total, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing data from the US Department of Commerce, AISI puts total June permit applications at 2.907 million short tons. While this is down -1% from the May permit total, it is up 4% from the more accurate preliminary total, Kallanish notes.
