Agha Steel taps Engro for renewable energy transition
Pakistan’s Engro Energy has signed an agreement to supply renewable energy to Agha Steel from its Jhimpir-based Renewable Energy Park, Kallanish notes. The steelmaker aims to become Pakistan’s first fossil-free producer by 2025.
According to Engro, this is the first hybrid wind and solar PV park in the country. It will provide up to 400 megawatts of electricity by early 2024 in the first phase, with a potential to increase this generation to 1 gigawatt…
