African crude steel output grows in March
The combined crude steel production of Egypt, South Africa, Libya and Tunisia, the four African countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel), inched up 18.8% on-month and 8.4% on-year in March to 1.35 million tonnes. However, first-quarter output declined 2.6% on-year to 3.71mt from 3.81mt in Q1 2022, Kallanish notes.
