Acerías Paz del Río gets new mining licence
Colombian mining agency ANM has extended local steelmaker Acerías Paz del Río’s mining licence. The permit will allow the company to continue extraction of coking coal in the Boyacá region for an additional 20 years.
“This project guarantees continuity in the supply of inputs for the country's steel production and satisfies more than 40% of the national demand for steel,” ANM says in a note seen by Kallanish.
