Abinsk and Novorosmetal move further downstream
Southern Russian scrap-based steelmakers Novorosmetal and Abinsk Electic Steel Works have placed orders with Danieli for wire rod drawing mills, to be installed in 2020, the technology supplier says.
Abinsk placed an order for a 600,000 tonnes/year H3 drawing mill for 5.5mm-16mm diameter wire rod in coil and 6mm-12mm quenched micro-alloyed Cold Heading Quality (CHQ) rod for bar for construction purposes.
