Turkish mill concludes fresh rebar sale to Asia
Turkish mills are facing weak demand in export markets, although news of one producer managing to secure a fresh rebar deal to Hong Kong has been welcomed in the Turkish market.
A Turkish rebar producer sold 55,000 tonnes of rebar to Hong Kong at $416/tonne cfr actual weight for August shipment. Freight is currently at around $22-25/t, meaning the deal nets back to around $391-394/t fob Turkey, Kallanish notes.
