Baosteel's Zhanjiang project tilts first BOF

China’s Baosteel has begun testing the first basic oxygen converter at its Zhanjiang greenfield steelworks in southern Guangdong province. Steelmaking is scheduled to begin in early September, Kallanish notes. The first 250-tonne converter was tilted for the first time on 12 July, Baosteel says.
