Baosteels Zhanjiang prepares equipment but warns on losses
Eastern China’s Baosteel said on 7 November that it had installed the first heavy equipment at its 8.9 million tonnes/year Zhanjiang greenfield steelworks project in the southern province of Guangdong. The company warned however, that the plant would remain loss-making for an unspecified ‘initial period’ as the cost of installation weighed on its profitability.
