Wollongong coal expansion closer to approval
Indian-owned Australian miner Wollongong Coal expects to receive approval to expand its Russell Vale coking coal mine in New South Wales, Australian media report. The approval is vital to the company, which has seen sales collapse as its aging assets go offline. It has been forced to maintain itself through share issuances and a credit boost from its parent, Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL), Kallanish notes.
