Wei Chih upgrades bar mill
Taiwan’s Wei Chih Steel Industrial Co. Ltd. has contracted Siemens Metal Technologies to upgrade its 450,000 tonnes/year bar mill. The upgrade will expand product range and is due to be completed in mid-2015, Siemens says.
When work is complete the mill will be able to roll diameters up to 100mm and also produce flat bars from 25x3mm to 100x36mm and square bars of cross section 11.3-60mm, Siemens adds. It will also be modified to avoid surface scratchi…
