Weekly US raw steel output rises but still lags 2014
Weekly raw steel production and capability utilisation in the US picked up during the week ended 11 July 2015. It continues however to remain below year-ago levels, data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) shows.
An estimated 1,740,000 net tons of steel was produced during the week ending 11 July 2015, as mills operated at 72.8% of capability. Output increased 3.3% over the prior week, but was -9.1% lower than the same week one-year earlier. Th…
