Vale halts nickel mining in Ona Puma but launches appeal
Brazil’s Vale tells Kallanish that it has learned of a court ruling to halt nickel mining activity in Onça Puma and that it has “… filed an appeal to re-establish the mine’s activities.” The company says that it is complying with the court order even though it is currently compliant with all conditions established by the regional government environmental committee, it maintains.
