Vale production records tumble, but railroad disruption lowers shipments
In its latest production report monitored by Kallanish, Brazil’s Vale says that it reached its highest quarterly iron ore output ever in the three months ending September 30 2014. Shipments fell however due to railroad disruption in Carajás.
The company produced 85.7 million tonnes of iron ore in Q3 14 or 0.7mt more than its previous best quarterly performance in 2011. Vale’s year-to-date output is also a new record, the company says. In t…
